Tokyo

Explore travel timing in Tokyo using records from 2010–2025. These compare the same weeks across years, not a forecast for your trip.

Based on 16 years (2010-2025) of historical climate stats, not a forecast.

Reading the weekly records

Across 52 available weekly intervals in 2010–2025 (16 years), threshold occurrence counts range from 2 to 15 years per interval.

3 intervals share the lowest count. The first 3 in calendar order are 11/12 – 11/18, 12/3 – 12/9, 12/10 – 12/16, each with 2 of 16 years.

Counts include years meeting any heat, rain, gust or cold threshold. They are not annual totals, travel suitability scores or forecasts.

Data sources and methodology

Based on 16 years (2010-2025) of historical climate stats, not a forecast.

See method, data source, and limitations

An occurrence = at least one of: max temp >= 33°C (heat), daily precip >= 30mm (rain), gust >= 70km/h (wind), min temp <= -10°C (cold) on a given day. One day is enough to count that week/year.

Built from ERA5 reanalysis retrieved through the Open-Meteo Archive API. Covers 100 cities over 2010–2025; gridded data combines observations and models.

This index is historical statistics, not a weather forecast. Wind gust is an imperfect proxy for typhoons, and grid resolution may miss microclimates.
